Deutschland und Polen, ungarisch-jüdische Frauen in Arbeitslagern, 1944

In 1944, about 180 Jewish women were sent from Hungary to Auschwitz and then to do forced labor in Germany and Poland. These women remained in a group as they were sent back and forth to several forced labor camps, including Rochlitz, a subcamp of Flossenburg concentration camp in Germany. One of these camps had them working from 7:00 at night until 7:00 in the morning so nobody would find out about them. Finally, they were forced to walk almost 400 kilometers in the cold weather and without adequate clothing to Garmisch Partenkirchen. Here they were liberated on April 28, 1945. The information in this collection contains names, dates of birth, nationalities, and prisoner numbers.
