In 1893, Joseph Foster published this compilation containing matriculations (university registrations) for Oxford for the years 1880 through 1892. With it he included birthdays and sometimes birthplaces, school honors and degrees, and the name of the college attended within Oxford. The publication is illustrated with pictures of scholars (particularly sports teams) and the institution.
